Potato gratin with bacon recipe

Christmas recipes are usually special and quite elaborate, with attractive and sometimes copious ingredients. If you have thought of a main dish with these characteristics, you will have to accompany it with a garnish that suits it. Well, potatoes with bacon and cheese are an accompaniment that goes great with any first course, both meat and fish.

To prepare these baked potatoes with cheese you only have to cut the potatoes and arrange them in layers, the oven will do the rest of the work! Take note of the step by step that we show you and enjoy some homemade bacon gratin potatoes.

Ingredients to make Potato Gratin with Bacon:

  • 6 potatoes
  • 100 grams of smoked bacon
  • 100 grams of cheese
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch of ground nutmeg
  • 1 splash of olive oil

How to make Potato Gratin with Bacon:

  1. We gather all the ingredients to prepare the gratin potatoes with bacon.
  2. First of all, we peel the potatoes, wash them and cut them into slices of approximately half a centimeter.
  3. We put the potatoes on a greased oven tray with a little oil. Place a layer of potatoes on the base, season with salt and pepper and add a little ground nutmeg.
  4. Add the bacon cut into strips on top of the potatoes and a little cheese spread.
  5. We place another layer of potato, interspersing it with bacon and cheese until we finish all the potatoes. We will leave a top layer of potatoes.
  6. We put the potatoes in the oven at 180ºC for 30-35 minutes.
  7. Tip: Don’t forget to put a little salt, pepper and nutmeg on each layer of potatoes
  8. After that time, we take out the potatoes, add cheese on top and put them back in the oven for another 10-15 minutes until the cheese is gratin and they are golden.
  9. Tip: As the cooking time depends on the thickness of the potatoes, you can test the state of the potatoes by piercing them
