What a great ingredient the potato! Fried, cooked or roasted, it offers us the possibility of using it in a thousand and one recipes. Essential in most homes, the potato is that “savior” that offers many mothers the opportunity to bring to the table a dish that adults but especially children like. If you want to succeed at home, I recommend this recipe for gratin potatoes with sausages and feta cheese that is very simple to prepare but has a great flavor.

Ingredients to make Gratin potatoes with sausages and feta cheese:
- 4 potatoes
- 2 onion
- 4 Buckhurst sausages
- 250 grams of feta cheese
- 100 milliliters of water
- 100 milliliters of white wine
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 60 grams of grated cheese
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 splash of extra virgin olive oil
How to make Au Gratin Potatoes with Sausage and Feta:
- We start by peeling the potatoes and cutting them into pieces.
- We put them in a casserole with water on the fire and cook until when pierced with a fork they can be pierced. We drain and reserve.
- Trick: They should not be excessively soft since the potatoes go into the oven afterwards.
- Meanwhile, peel the onion and cut it into julienne strips.
- Heat a frying pan with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, add the onion and stir from time to time.
- At the moment the onion begins to become transparent, add the white wine and water, pepper and salt to taste. Stir well, cover and cook over high heat, stirring from time to time so that it does not stick.
- Cut the sausages into pieces and when the onion has consumed about 2/3 of the liquid, add them, mix well and cover again.
- Cut the feta cheese into cubes and reserve. Remove the onion from the heat when there is barely any liquid left.
- Place the potatoes in an ovenproof dish and pour the onion on top along with the sausages and half the feta cheese cubes.
- Stir carefully to mix the ingredients.
- Spread over the potatoes with sausages and cheese the rest of the feta cheese cubes and sprinkle with grated cheese.
- We put the potatoes with sausages in the oven preheated to 180 ºC and cook for about 20 minutes.
- Serve the gratin potatoes with sausages and that freshly made. Good appetite!
