Ingredients to make Potato gratin with cream:

  • ½ kilogram of potatoes
  • 1 can of cream or large milk cream
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 1 pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of oregano

How to make Potatoes Gratin with Cream:

Start by peeling the potatoes and cutting them into slices of about 5 mm. Then put them in a pot, cover them with water, sprinkle a little salt and take them to the fire. Boil the potatoes for 10-15 minutes and then drain the water well.

Tip: The potatoes should be soft but not fall apart, as they will finish cooking in the oven.

Spread the dish or oven tray where you want to prepare the potatoes au gratin with cream and cheese and cover the base with a layer of the tubers. Then pour some cream and grated cheese on top and then sprinkle salt and ground pepper to taste. Repeat this same step until you finish with all the ingredients in layers. If you prefer, you can use this homemade sour cream recipe instead of cream.

Tip: Remember that the last layer of the baked potatoes with cream must be cream and cheese so that they are not dry.

When you finish assembling the tray of baked potatoes with cream and cheese, sprinkle the oregano, cover the dish with aluminum foil and cook them in a preheated oven at 200°C for 10-15 minutes. Then remove the foil and continue baking until nicely browned.

Prick the baked potatoes au gratin with cream and cheese to check the consistency: if they are soft, remove them from the oven, but if not, leave them for another 5-10 minutes.

Serve the potatoes au gratin with cream while they are still hot as an appetizer or side dish and enjoy!
