On this occasion we share with all of you a different variety of croquettes, with potato and blue cheese. For cheese lovers, this starter will fascinate you, as it offers an exquisite contrast of textures and flavors. We are going to see the ingredients and step by step that we show to prepare these delicious blue cheese croquettes.
Ingredients to make Potato and Blue Cheese Croquettes:
- 5 units of Potatoes or mashed potatoes
- 2 teaspoons of blue cheese
- 2 units of Eggs
- 1 unit of white onion
- 150 grams of wheat flour
- 150 grams of breadcrumbs
- 40 grams of Bacon or bacon
- 1 pinch of garlic paste
- 2 teaspoons of cream cheese
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of pepper
How to make Potato and Blue Cheese Croquettes:
The first step to make this recipe is to pre-list the ingredients for our cheese croquettes. Peel the potatoes and cut them into medium squares, put them in a deep pot with enough water to cover them over medium heat and cook them until they are soft enough to mash.
Take a pan over medium heat and add the white onion in squares and the bacon in thin strips, cook until golden brown. Take the cooked potatoes to a bowl and mash them with the help of a fork. Mix the cream cheese with the blue cheese and add it to our mashed potatoes. Mix all the ingredients very well until they are well integrated, add salt and pepper to taste. Also add the garlic paste.
Add the sautéed bacon with the onion and mix the ingredients well. Let the cheese croquette mixture cool.
Now we are going to make the batter for the homemade croquettes. So, we add the eggs in a bowl, the wheat flour in a plate and the breadcrumbs in another plate. Form medium balls as seen in the photograph.
Pass the cheese croquettes first through the wheat flour. Then go through the beaten eggs as if you were going to make an omelet and, finally, through the breadcrumbs.
Take a frying pan with enough oil to fry over medium heat, once hot add the cheese croquettes and let them brown on each side. Remove the homemade croquettes to a plate with absorbent paper to remove excess fat from our preparation.
Serve the blue cheese croquettes with any dip or sauce of your choice, such as onion dip or pink sauce. I wanted to add bacon or bacon to our recipe since it combines very well with blue cheese.
