Pizza Base Recipe

Ingredients to make Pizza Base:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of fine salt
  • 1 2x2x2 cm piece of yeast (buy it at any bakery).

How to make Pizza Base:

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, salt and oil, in order to bind everything very well (the point is when lumps form).
  2. Warm the milk and dissolve the yeast in it.
  3. Add the milk to the bowl and knead everything until firm (make a bun).
  4. Put the bun in a plastic bag, removing the air and sprinkling flour on top, so that when it rises it does not stick.
  5. Let it rise in a dark and warm place for about 1 hour.
  6. Heat the oven to 230/250ºC.
  7. Take a baking dish, grease it with oil and sprinkle flour on top.
  8. Once the bun is left (it has doubled in size at least), stretch it with your hands, with radial movements (from the center out), in order to give it a disk shape.
  9. Put it in the dish, adapt it to size and make dimples with your fingers.
  10. Cook it in the oven in the middle part, approximately 15 min. (It depends a lot on the type of oven, that is, on the heat distribution capacity).
  11. The point is achieved more with smell (bakery smell) than by sight.
  12. And that’s it.
  13. All that remains is to smear the base with a tomato sauce and cover it with the ingredients that most suit you.
  14. This base, once cooked, can be frozen by wrapping it in aluminum foil.
