Ingredients to make Pinolillo:
- 2 tablespoons of cornmeal
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 teaspoons of sugar or honey
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 pinch of ground cloves
- 1 cup skim milk
- 1 cup of cold water
How to make Pinolillo:
- Heat a small skillet over medium heat.
- Add the cornmeal. Heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until lightly toasted.
- Transfer to a blender. Add cocoa powder, sugar or honey, cinnamon, pepper, cloves, milk, and water. Grind until a sparkling pinol remains.
- Serve the Nicaraguan pinolilloin mugs.
