  • 500 grams of frozen peas
  • 250 grams of Serrano or sweet ham
  • 2 onions
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 pinch of Paprika
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • virgin olive oil

How to make Peas with ham and onion:

  1. The first step to prepare the peas with ham and onion is to peel and cut the garlic cloves into slices.
  2. Then we also peel, wash and cut the onions in julienne strips and put everything to sauté in a pan with a little olive oil over medium heat.
  3.  Add a little salt.
  4. Next, we cut the ham into strips or cubes and add it to the sauce once it is well poached.
  5. We fry all the ingredients a little so that the ham gives a special touch to our peas with ham and onion.
  6. I have used sweet ham or also called York ham, but Serrano ham can also be used perfectly.
  7. The grace is that it is of quality that is why not just anyone will work.
  8. Once the ham has been sautéed with the onion and garlic, let everything cool down a bit and add the peas that we will have previously defrosted.
  9. Add a teaspoon of paprika and cook the peas and ham over low heat for approximately 15 minutes, stirring from time to time so that the ingredients do not stick to the pan.
  10. When the peas with ham and onion are well done, we can serve them as a starter for any occasion.
