This time I want to share a very simple and quick recipe that we can prepare in no time and it is very good. It is a dish that serves as an accompaniment to any dish or to eat it as a starter and it is about peas with bacon and onion.

A recipe for stir- fried peas that we can prepare accompanied by bacon and to make it even healthier, we can put ham instead of bacon. In addition, it is a good way for the smallest of the house, who normally does not like this vegetable, to eat it without problems

For this peas and bacon recipe we can use fresh peas, but since the season is short, we can always use frozen or canned peas, which are also very good!

Ingredients to make Peas with bacon and onion:

  • 500 grams of Peas
  • 1 unit of onion
  • 200 grams of Bacon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of Pepper
  • 1 splash of olive oil

How to make Peas with bacon and onion:

  1. The first thing we will do to make these peas with bacon and onion is to gather the ingredients that we are going to use and then, we put a pot with boiling water.
  2. When it starts to boil add the peas (fresh or frozen).
  3. If they are canned and cooked, it will not be necessary to cook them.
  4. When the peas are cooked, remove them and drain.
  5. Meanwhile, cut and chop the onion and bacon.
  6. Then we put a frying pan with a little oil and we will fry the onion, and when it starts to take a little color we will add the bacon.
  7. We will skip everything together for a few minutes.
  8. Add the well-drained peas to the pan and stir well for a few minutes so that they take on all the flavors.
  9. So the sautéed peas with bacon will be very tasty.
  10. Finally, we will taste salt and add a little ground pepper to give even more flavor.
  11. We can accompany the peas with bacon and onion with some hard- boiled eggs and it will be a great dish. And ready to eat!
