Pasta salads are usually very easy to make, they get us out of trouble on a day when we don’t have much time to cook. We give you interesting options for these moments. In this recipe we will learn to make a pasta salad with peas in which we will use short pasta, tomato and avocado, with a basil pesto dressing.

Ingredients to make Pasta Salad with Peas:
- 200 grams of penne pasta or any short pasta
- 200 grams of peas
- 2 units of avocado
- 2 units of red tomato
- pesto room
- 1 bunch of basil
- 6 units of Walnuts
- 1 jet of olive oil
- 1 garlic clove
- 150 grams of Parmesan cheese
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of pepper
How to make Pea Pasta Salad:
Before making the salad with peas, the first step is to get all the ingredients ready.
To make the pesto sauce, in a blender add the basil leaves, with the garlic clove, half of the Parmesan cheese, a splash of olive oil and a little water, this way the pesto will be smoother. Process until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
Immediately add the nuts, the rest of the Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Process until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Pesto sauce is also made with pine nuts, but if you can’t find this ingredient you can substitute it with walnuts as we have done in this recipe.
Separately, cook the pasta in a pot with boiling salted water for 12 minutes or until al dente, drain and set aside.
Tip: Remember to check the cooking times recommended by the manufacturer of the pasta you are going to use.
Continuing with the salad, in a bowl add and mix the pasta with the pesto. Stir everything very well so that all the paste is impregnated with the sauce.
Add the peas (previously cooked in boiling water) and the diced tomato. Mix everything very well again and at the end add the avocado cut into pieces, stir carefully, rectify flavor with salt and pepper.
Finally serve the pasta salad with peas, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and enjoy.
