Panatela Salad Recipe

This is a simple salad whose recipe comes from Italian Tuscany. The Panatela salad combines ripe tomato, mozzarella, green olives and basil with stale bread or croutons, and has an intense and aromatic flavor. Although this version of RecetasGratis.net does not include it, you can also add onion.

Ingredients to make Panatela Salad:

  • 20 grams of Croutons
  • 12 units of cherry tomatoes
  • 85 grams of Mozzarella
  • 50 grams of green olives
  • 4 basil leaves

For the dressing:

  • 3 squirts of virgin olive oil
  • 2 dashes of balsamic vinegar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of ground black pepper

How to make Panatela Salad:

We prepare the ingredients for our Panatela salad. We have chosen cherry tomatoes, although you can also opt for normal salad tomatoes. Of course, look for them mature.

First we dedicate ourselves to the dressing. In a bowl, pour two squirts of virgin olive oil, one of balsamic vinegar of Modena, salt and ground black pepper to taste. Stir well to make this intensely flavored Italian salad.

Then pour the dressing over the croutons, and let it rest for 15 minutes. In this way the bread will be well impregnated.

Now we chop the rest of the ingredients of the Panatela salad. The secret in this type of salad is that its components have more or less the same size. So we cut the cherry tomatoes into two or three parts, cut the green olives in half, chop the basil and cut the mozzarella into small pieces.

Pour all the ingredients into the bowl of croutons and stir well. You can add another splash of olive oil and balsamic vinegar to make this fresh Italian salad even juicier, and let it sit for five more minutes before serving.

Now you can taste this delicious Panatela salad. It is a very good alternative to the better known capers salad, and you will surely love this one too. We advise you to accompany it with a dry white wine. Although it will not be to the taste of purists, this salad is ideal for eating with a spoon.
