Ingredients to make Pakistani Rice:
- 2 cups of Basmati rice
- 4 cups of water
- 4 tablespoons of oil
- 1 onion
- 1 bay leaf
- 5 teaspoons of black pepper
- 5 teaspoons of cumin
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
- 1 salt
How to make Pakistani Rice:
- Wash the rice and leave to soak for 10 minutes
- Chop the onion into small pieces.
- Have all the spices prepared in the amount indicated.
- Fry the onion in oil until golden brown.
- Add and fry all the spices.
- Add the rice, stirring for a minute so that everything is mixed well.
- Finally add the water, boil over high heat uncovered, until the rice forms holes.
- Then lower the heat and cover until the water evaporates.
- Remove from the heat and let rest, before eating, about 10-15 minutes.
- Salt is added during cooking and to taste.
