Pakistani Rice Recipe

Ingredients to make Pakistani Rice:

  • 2 cups of Basmati rice
  • 4 cups of water
  • 4 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 5 teaspoons of black pepper
  • 5 teaspoons of cumin
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 salt

How to make Pakistani Rice:

  1. Wash the rice and leave to soak for 10 minutes
  2. Chop the onion into small pieces.
  3. Have all the spices prepared in the amount indicated.
  4. Fry the onion in oil until golden brown.
  5. Add and fry all the spices.
  6. Add the rice, stirring for a minute so that everything is mixed well.
  7. Finally add the water, boil over high heat uncovered, until the rice forms holes.
  8. Then lower the heat and cover until the water evaporates.
  9. Remove from the heat and let rest, before eating, about 10-15 minutes.
  10. Salt is added during cooking and to taste.
