Original Sushi Recipe

Ingredients to make original Sushi:

  • 2 cups of sushi rice
  • 2 cups of water
  • 75ml of minagre for sushi (all this is bought in specialized stores for Japanese food)
  • 1 makisu (bamboo mat to roll the sushi)
  • 4 sheets of seaweed paper (nori)
  • 1/2 cups of sesame seeds
  • cream cheese
  • 1 seedless cucumber
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 4 peeled and cooked shrimp
  • Dip:
  • lemon juice to taste
  • japanese soy sauce
  • orange juice to taste

How to make Original Sushi:

  1. Wash the rice very well, until the water runs transparent, let it drain, boil the rice with water over medium heat, then cover it; Let it boil over high heat for 2 minutes.
  2. Then over medium heat for 5 minutes. And finally, on fire for a minimum of 15 meters.
  3. Let it absorb the rest of the water.
  4. Try not to uncover the pot so that you get better results.
  5. Remove the lid, cover with a cloth and let cool for 10 minutes.
  6. Pour it into a refractory and move it constantly, add the vinegar until it is cold, keep it covered with plastic.
  7. Place the makisu, on top a sheet of nori covered with rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  8. Turn the sheet over, on the edge place a thin layer of cream cheese, a strip of cucumber, one of avocado and shrimp.
  9. Go rolling and pressing with the makisu until you form the rolls. Follow the same procedure with the other seaweed.
  10. Moisten a knife with water, cut the rolls into 6 or 8.
  11. Serve it accompanied by soy sauce with lemon and orange juice.
