Ingredients to make original Cuban Mojito:

  • ¼ glass of white rum
  • 4 mint leaves
  • 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar
  • 1 splash of lemon juice
  • 1 handful of crushed ice
  • Soda or mineral water
  • 3 drops of Angostura bitters
  • 1 branch of mint

How to make original Cuban Mojito:

  1. Put the finely crushed ice in a container and fill with soda or mineral water, drop 2 or 3 drops of Angostura bitters. Reserve for later.
  2. Take a glass of whiskey and add the mint leaves and two tablespoons of sugar. With a mortar, we crush the mint well so that it releases its juice and mixes with the sugar.
  3. Then we add the rumand lemon juice. Fill the glass with the crushed ice that we have reserved and, if we wish, we can drop 1 or 2 more drops of Angostura bitters. Finally, we decorate with mint and enjoy!
  4. If the first time you notice that the Cuban mojitois too bitter for you, you should keep trying until you find the quantities that suit your personal tastes.
