Ingredients to make Orange Liqueur:

  1. 5 units of Orange (400ml. of juice)
  2. 3 tablespoons of Sugar
  3. 200 milliliters of Water
  4. 700 milliliters of white rum

How to make Orange Liqueur:

  • Cut the oranges and squeeze to extract all the juice from the fruit, try not to strain any seeds.
  • Separately, mix the water with the sugar and heat for 5 minutes until it dissolves well. Let stand until it reaches room temperature.
  • Once cold, add the orange juice, mix and pass this first mixture through a filter. Then, combine this sugary juice with the rum and place all the liquid in a container, preferably glass.
  • Keep this container in a dark place for 4 weeks. After this time, filter again and fill in bottles. Shake the mixture during the maceration process and before consumption.
  • This recipe gives for a liter and a half of homemade orange liqueur.
