Ingredients to make Orange Ice Cream:

  • 3 oranges
  • ½ lemon
  • 400 milliliters of whipping cream (2 cups)
  • 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
  • 125 grams of white sugar
  • grated dark chocolate to decorate

How to make Orange Ice Cream:

  1. To start with the homemade orange ice cream, squeeze the juice from the oranges and set aside.
  2. Avoid straining it since the pulp will give your dessert a lot of texture, in addition to the fact that most of the vitamins and fiber are concentrated in this part of the fruit.
  3. If desired, also squeeze the juice of half a lemon. This detail will serve as a driver for the citrus flavor of the ice cream, although it is totally optional.
  4. Tip: the lemon helps stop the oxidation of the dessert.
  5. It is essential that the cream is very cold so that it mounts without problems. Add a little sugar and beat, starting slowly and making peaks of intensity.
  6. You can help yourself with an electric mixer or choose to do it manually. Continue beating until the cream is curdled.
  7. Tip: to prepare an orange ice cream without cream, you can substitute this ingredient for yogurt, as it will provide a similar texture.
  8. Add the rest of the sugar and the orange blossom water into the orange and lemon juice.
  9. Mix until both ingredients have been diluted in the juice and pour it over the cream in small streams.
  10. Stir with enveloping and smooth movements to obtain a creamy orange ice cream.
  11. Cover with a layer of protective film and place the container in the freezer for at least 4 hours.
  12. After this time, serve your homemade orange ice cream in a bowl and decorate with chocolate scraping.
  13. You can also decorate it with wafers, ice cream cookies or flavored syrup.
