Onion Cream Recipe

Ingredients to make Onion Cream:

  • 4 units of Onion
  • 1 cup of cream for cooking
  • 1 bunch of Basil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper

How to make Onion Cream:

  1. In a pot put the four onions peeled and cut in halves add a liter of water and cook until they open.
  2. To continue preparing the onion cream, add a little salt and empty the water with the onions in the blender and grind until obtaining a homogeneous liquid. If you don’t have a blender you can use a blender or a juice processor. Add about 10 to 15 fresh basil leaves to soften the flavor of the onions.
  3. Pour the mixture back into the pot and let it simmer for a few minutes, then turn off the heat and add the cream. Stir well and correct the seasoning of the onion cream if necessary.
  4. Serve the onion cream very hot and decorate with strips of fried bacon or toasted bread. If you wish, you can use this same recipe to prepare an onion sauce ideal for meat or fish. To do this, just reduce the cream over low heat until it thickens enough
