Onion and leek tart recipe

Ingredients to make Onion and Leek Tart:

  • 2 leeks
  • 2 onions
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons of oil
  • 250 milliliters of milk
  • 250 milliliters of milk cream or cream
  • ½ cup of grated cheese
  • 3 tablespoons of wheat flour
  • 50 grams of butter
  • 1 pinch of salt and pepper

How to make Onion and Leek Tart:

Have the ingredients for our onion and leek tart ready and start by chopping the leak into slices, chopping the entire white stem. Do the same with the onion, cutting it into medium strips. Heat a skillet over medium heat, place the butter so that it melts and then the oil so that the butter does not burn. Cook the leek and onion in the pan until soft. Next, add the milk and flour, constantly mixing with a wooden spoon so that no lumps form. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then turn off the heat. On the other hand, beat the eggs in a bowl. Check that the previous mixture is at room temperature and then add the eggs and stir well. In this way we ensure that the eggs do not cook.

To finish with the mixture of our salty cake, add the grated cheese and the milk cream stirring until obtaining a uniform mixture. Empty the mixture into a suitable ovenproof dish and on top, pour the other mixture of leek and onion. Bake in a preheated oven for 30-40 minutes at 200°C.

When the cake is golden on top it can be removed. Let it cool for about 10 minutes and it will be ready to serve. Enjoy this rich onion and leek tart for dinner or as a starter in the lunch menu.
