This recipe is for people who find white rice boring or want to try different and new flavors. It is a seasoned rice that combines the fragrances of spices and orange, with a sweet touch of raisins and agave syrup, it is a delight that you cannot miss. The combination is incredible and you can serve it as an individual dish or accompany it with vegetables or vegetable meat. To prepare this recipe it is recommended to use long grain rice, the best option is basmati rice.
Ingredients to make Moroccan-style rice:
- 240 grams of basmati rice
- 1 carrot
- 1 leek
- 800 milliliters of vegetable broth or water
- 1 handful of raisins
- 1 handful of cashews
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon of agave syrup
- ½ teaspoon cumin grain
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander
How to make Moroccan style rice:
- Soak the raisins in warm water for 15 minutes, drain and set aside.
- Cut the carrot and the leek into small pieces to continue with the preparation of the Moroccan rice.
- Heat a pot with oil and fry the leek and carrot until the carrot begins to soften. Add the cumin and orange zest and sauté a little until they start to release their aroma.
- Add the raisins, cashews and paprika and fry for a couple more minutes.
- Add the rice, fry it a little stirring often, and add the syrup and the vegetable broth or water. Cook the rice until soft, about 20 minutes.
