Ingredients to make Mistela de Betarragas:
- 5 units of beetroot
- ½ unit of vanilla stick
- 1½ cups of sugar (300 grams)
- 1 cup of brandy
How to make Mistela de Betarragas:
- Liquid resulting from the addition of alcohol to the grape must in a sufficient quantity so that fermentation does not occur, and without the addition of any other substance. To start the beetroot mistela we have to cook the beetsin 2 1/2 cups of water. Then add the sugar and the vanilla stick, let it boil for a few minutes. Once the soaking time has elapsed, strain the juiced mix with the brandy.
- Pack in sterilized bottles and anstore in a cool, dark place. Add the brandy when the preparation has cooled. Bottle and cover well.
