Mimosa with cava

Ingredients to make Mimosa with cava:

  • 2 Oranges
  • 50 grams of Sugar (¼ cup)
  • 100 milliliters of Cava

How to make Mimosa with cava:

  • The first step will be to get all the ingredients ready. The mimosa is normally prepared with cava, but if you don’t have it you can use any sparkling wine, champagne or you can also make a mimosa with cider.
  • Now we squeeze the oranges. Reserve a couple of segments or some skin from the fruit to decorate the glasses with our mimosa cocktail.
  • Pass the orange game through a strainer to remove any seeds or pulp that may have passed.
  • Place the glasses where you are going to serve the mimosa and moisten the edges with one of the orange segments that we have reserved. We do this to frost the glasses and make a more elegant decoration.
  • Place the sugar on a flat plate and place the glass upside down. The idea is that the sugar sticks to the orange-moistened edges.
  • This same procedure is carried out in other types of cocktails such as the strawberry daiquiri or the Mexican michelada, although in the latter case it is not made with sugar but with seasonings and spices.
  • Finally, place the cava in the glass, occupying about three parts and finish by adding one part of orange juice. Enjoy the mimosa with cava and serve it as an appetizer before a special evening.
