Ingredients to make Mikado Cake:
- 200 grams of dark chocolate
- 125 grams of butter
- 4 eggs L
- 125 grams of sugar
- 75 grams of cream or milk cream
- 150 grams of flour
- 1 tablespoon chemical yeast powder
- 1 package of Mikado
- For the ganache:
- 50 grams of grated dark chocolate
- 25 milliliters of cream or milk cream
How to make Mikado Cake:
- First we are going to preheat the oven to 180ºC. Then, we chop the 200 g of dark chocolate and put them in a bowl together with the butter. We melt it in the microwave or in a water bath and reserve.
- Beat the eggs with the sugar until the mixture is white and we can continue preparing the dough for the chocolate cake with Mikados.
- Add the mixture of chocolate and melted butter and the cream. We mix well.
- Combine the yeast with the flour and sift over the mixture.
- Grease a round mold and pour the dough for the Mikado cake into it. We tap the mold a few times so that the dough settles and there are no bubbles inside.
- We are putting the Mikados in the center in the shape of a star.
- We put a long Mikado, cutting only the tip that is not bathed and one that we will cut smaller, like this in the entire center of the cake.
- We bake the chocolate cake with Mikados at 180 ºC with heat up and down for 35 minutes.
- Remove the tart from the oven and unmold it to cool. We turn it around again so that the mikados are on top.
- To decorate the cake we are going to make a chocolate ganache.
- To do this, we heat the cream in the microwave until it boils, immediately add the chopped chocolate and stir until it is completely dissolved.
- Let cool and store in the fridge. At the time of serving the cake, we decorate the center of the cake with the chocolate ganache.
- White chocolate ganache could also be made.
- The Mikado cake will keep very well wrapped in plastic wrap.
