Bean and panela cheese sopes are a classic Mexican appetizer, although as simple as it may seem, we can make it a very complete food, since corn dough is the main ingredient, we can combine it with other foods. At this article, we teach you, step by step, how to prepare this typical Mexican recipe.
Ingredients to make Mexican Sopes:
- ½ kilogram of corn dough for tortillas
- 50 milliliters of oil
- At your service
- 250 grams of refried beans
- 100 grams of grated panela cheese
How to make Mexican Sopes:
1.To prepare our Mexican sopes you have to form dough balls of about 20-25 grams. Put them between two plastic sheets and compact with your hands until they form a kind of tortilla about 10 centimeters wide by approximately 5 millimeters thick.
2.Put them in a hot pan and let them cook on both sides, remove and reserve.
3.To form the bean sopes, help yourself with your fingers, index and thumb, and press the entire edge, in the form of a “pinch”, until forming an edge.
4.Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the sopes on both sides, remove and reserve.
5.To serve, place some refried beans and grated cheese on top of the scope. If you want to look adventurous, how about accompanying it with a peanut sauce to give it that Mexican touch?
Trick: Remember that the scope is a base, so you can put any type of stew on top
