You will think that it is not funny at all to make a bread with cheese and it is true, but with this recipe it intends to give some tricks to make the bread crispy and that the cheese is completely melted and that it does not come out of the edges before biting or Cut the bread.

I prepared it for lunch, but you can eat this cheese sandwich at any time. I hope you enjoy the recipe and do not forget to comment and share your photos. Let’s cook!

Ingredients to make Melted Cheese Sandwich:

  • 2 slices of sliced bread
  • ½ tablespoon of butter
  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1 handful of grated Mozzarella cheese
  • 2 slices of Mozzarella Cheese

How to make Melted Cheese Sandwich:

To make this melted cheese sandwich we can use any type of cheese, yes, it is important that it is a cheese that melts in the heat. I have decided to use only two types of cheese, but I think a little Roquefort cheese would be very good to contrast flavors. Now, we start by melting the butter by heating a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Then, we lower the flame to a minimum and place the bread in the pan just so that they are buttered from side to side. I have used whole wheat bread, but you can use any type of sliced bread. Now, check that the flame is at a minimum, leave one of the slices of bread in the pan and start putting all the cheeses. I have put the mozzarella slices first, then cheddar, grated mozzarella and more cheddar.

You don’t need to add salt or pepper because the cheese and butter will give the sandwich all the flavor.

We put the lid on the pan and keep cooking for a few minutes until we see that the cheeses begin to melt.

It is true that we can make a cheese sandwich by crushing it in a toaster, but in this way the bread is crispy and the cheese does not spread over the edges, but is completely melted and ready to overflow with the first bite. Now we put the other slice of bread and continue cooking turning and turning from time to time until the bread is golden to our liking. In case you want to make a sandwich with melted cheese on top, it will be enough to put more cheese on top and cover the pan again.

Cooking over low heat and with a lid guarantees that the bread does not burn before the cheese is completely melted. Serve immediately and enjoy! I served myself this melted cheese sandwich with a couple of sausages, it’s not a diet dish, but it was great!
