Lettuce salad with tuna and healthy walnuts recipe

To make this tuna and lettuce salad we will need these two ingredients, nuts, olives, fresh cheese, onion and the dressing that we want to include.

Salads are also for cold days, because autumn gives us many fruits that we can include, such as walnuts. Although we can currently find them for sale at any time of the year, it is precisely on these days when they are about to be in season. For all these reasons, we prepare a healthy salad with walnuts accompanied by tuna, Burgos cheese and pickles, simple and very tasty! Dare to prepare my recipe for lettuce salad with tuna and walnuts, bring your heart to life with walnuts and olive oil.

Ingredients to make Healthy Tuna Walnut Lettuce Salad:

  • 1 lettuce
  • 90 grams of pitted black olives
  • 1 Burgos cheese
  • 2 cans of prickly pear in oil
  • 90 grams of pickled red onions
  • 50 grams of shelled walnuts
  • 1 splash of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 splash of vinegar
  • 1 pinch of salt

How to make Healthy Walnut Tuna Lettuce Salad:

We split the nuts to remove the fruit and reserve. This is if we use seasonal walnuts, if we use already peeled walnuts we skip this step.

We cut the lettuce; wash it well under the kitchen tap, centrifuge and reserve. If we don’t have a centrifuge, we leave it in a colander so that it releases the water well and the tuna and walnut salad is perfect.

We put the cans of tuna to drain and cut the cheese into cubes. If you do not have Burgos cheese for the lettuce and tuna salad, you can use another fresh cheese.

In a large bowl, put the lettuce, the pickled olives and onions, the slightly crumbled tuna, the walnuts and the cheese. Season with olive oil, salt and a dash of vinegar, stir carefully so as not to destroy the cheese, and that’s it! Lots of heart-healthy fats in this tuna walnut lettuce salad recipe. And second, we can opt for a rice recipe, such as a mushroom risotto, some chickpeas with spinach, or whatever we like the most.
