We learn how to prepare a healthy salad that includes many beneficial ingredients for our heart, which deserves to be pampered! Nuts are great for our health and taken in moderate amounts (since they are very caloric) they will help us to be healthy while leading a healthy lifestyle.
It is a salad of lettuce with seeds and complete walnuts that can be a unique dish, helping us to atone for the excesses committed during parties or family gatherings. I hope you enjoy it!
Ingredients to make lettuce salad with seeds and nuts:
- 1 iceberg lettuce
- grated celery
- 90 grams of pitted green olives
- 1 green apple
- 250 grams of feta cheese
- 1 handful of sultanas
- 1 handful of shelled walnuts
- 1 handful of pumpkin, sunflower and pine nut seeds
- 1 handful of croutons
- 1 splash of extra virgin olive oil
- 1 splash of vinegar
- 1 pinch of salt
How to make Lettuce Salad with Seeds and Nuts:
Cut the lettuce; wash it with abundant water, centrifuge and reserve. If we do not have a centrifuge, we leave it in a drainer.
On the other hand, we wash the apple, remove the tail and the heart and cut it into pieces keeping the skin. We put it in a large bowl to continue with the preparation of the lettuce salad with seeds and nuts.
Cut the feta cheese into cubes and add it to the salad bowl. If we prefer, we can use another cheese.
Drain the grated celery and olives and add them to the salad where we have the rest of the ingredients.
Trick: I don’t put amount of celery because I don’t usually weigh it but I estimate that I add about 50-60 grams to this salad.
Add the well-drained lettuce and put a handful of raisins and another of salad seeds (in my case pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and pine nuts).
Season with a splash of vinegar, olive oil and salt and stir well so that the ingredients are mixed and perfectly seasoned.
Before serving, we crack a few walnuts and top the salad with a handful of croutons. This way we prevent them from softening and the seed salad with walnuts is perfect. Bon Appetite!
Trick: You can use peeled walnuts and save yourself having to open them.
