Lentils with fish recipe

Personally, curry is one of my favorite spices for its delicious flavor and aroma. In this recipe for lentils with fish,  you will learn how to make legumes with white fish easily and quickly. These have a lot of fiber, which favors intestinal transit, so including them in our diet is practically mandatory. In addition, it is accompanied by a grilled steak, so it is a perfect recipe for lentils with fried fish for lunch.

Ingredients to make Lentils with fish:

  • 200 grams of lentils
  • 80 grams of carrot
  • 2 tomato units
  • 80 grams of red onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 sprig of coriander
  • 1 dessert spoon of curry powder
  • 2 fresh white fish fillets
  • 1 unit of lemon
  • 1 splash of oil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper

How to make lentils with fish:

1. Before making the lentil curry with fish, the first step is to get all the ingredients ready.

2. In a pot with oil, fry the red onion and the carrot, all finely cut, for 5 minutes.

3. It is time to add the tomato without seeds and the finely chopped garlic, and cook over low heat covered for 5 minutes. Season to taste.

4. Next, add the lentils and the curry and mix everything very well.

5. Add the 4 cups of water and a sprig of cilantro, and cook over medium heat, covered, for 45 minutes or until the lentils are soft. For added flavor, you can add basic beef or chicken broth instead of water.

6. Once the curried lentils are ready, remove the coriander branch and rectify the flavor with salt and pepper.

7. For the fish fillet, in a frying pan with oil, cook the fillet with salt and pepper for four minutes on each side until golden brown.

Tip: If you use frozen fish you must thaw it before frying it in the pan.

8. Finally, serve the fish with lentils and enjoy. You can accompany this recipe with a slice of lemon juice and white rice
