Pregnant women certainly have to take care of their diet and the lentil salad for pregnant women is special for it. Lentils are high in protein and other nutrients that make them a healthy alternative for anyone as they are easily digestible. We will show you how to prepare a very nutritious fresh salad.

Ingredients to make Lentil Salad for pregnant women:

  • 2 cups of Lentils
  • 125 grams of alfalfa sprouts
  • 1 bunch of baby spinach
  • 1 piece of Tomato
  • 1 tablespoon of black sesame
  • 1 slice of onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 125 milliliters of balsamic vinegar
  • 250 milliliters of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of salt

How to make lentil salad for pregnant women:

As a first step, we gather all our ingredients. We clean the lentils, wash them and put them to soak for two hours. We wash and disinfect the spinach and the alfalfa sprouts. Once they are disinfected, we let them drain in a strainer.

Tip: It is better if the lentils are soaked overnight or germinated if possible.

Cook the lentils for two hours or until tender. Once they are cooked, let cool and strain the liquid. Remove the garlic and onion. We proceed to put the lentils in the fridge so they are fresh.

Chop the spinach, remove the seeds from the tomato and also chop it into large pieces. With all our ingredients ready we proceed to prepare this fresh lentil salad.

In a salad bowl, place the lentils, spinach, alfalfa sprouts and the chopped tomato last in the following order.

For the salad dressing for pregnant women, mix four tablespoons of olive oil with one tablespoon of vinegar and salt to taste. Pour into the lentil salad and stir, taking care that everything is well integrated. Sprinkle with the black sesame seeds.

Lentils are a rich source of many proteins but, like many legumes, they lack some amino acids. To make a complete food, combine it with a cereal such as rice and thus obtain a high-quality protein food.

We can add a cup of steamed rice to this salad and that’s it.
