  • 1 tablespoon of oregano
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 splash of olive oil

How to make Lentil Bolognese Sauce:

1.To start with the lentil Bolognese sauce recipe, you must first prepare the lentils. To do this, place a pot with salt and a bay leaf, add the lentils to the pot. Leave them until they are cooked, but whole. Then drain well and reserve. On the other hand, you should also know that you can buy them cooked from the pot, they come out very well and in this way you advance time. To do this, remove them from the pot, wash them under the tap, drain them and reserve them.

Next, prepare the vegetables. To do this, chop the onion, the green pepper, the red pepper, the carrot and the garlic cloves, chop all the vegetables very small. Next, place a saucepan on the heat with a splash of oil and add the onion, carrot and peppers, let it cook over medium heat.

2.When you see that they are poached, add the minced garlic cloves and stir.

3.Let the garlic cook carefully so it doesn’t burn, and add the white wine. Leave it for a few minutes to reduce the alcohol.

4.Add the crushed tomato, oregano or basil, and even both, a little pepper and salt. Let everything cook, it will be ready when the tomato sauce reduces and thickens. When the lentil Bolognese sauce is ready, taste it to see if it needs more salt or some herb, depending on how you like it.

5.As the sauce will be very thick, you can add a small glass of water or vegetable broth. Next, add the lentils and leave it all together for about 10 minutes to acquire the flavors. If you like it looser, you can add more water or broth until it is to your liking.

6.When the lentil Bolognese is cooked, you can eat it as is or you can grind it.

Tip: you can freeze in the fridge for future occasions.

7.Ready to serve!
