Humita cake recipe

• 1 sheet of whole wheat pie crust

• 340 grams of creamy corn

• 100 grams of corn kernels

• 1 large onion

• 100 cubic centimeters of skim milk

• 1 egg

• 2 tablespoons oatmeal, bran, cornmeal, or breadcrumbs

• 60 grams of fresh cheese

• Nutmeg

How to make Humita Cake:

Peel and chop the onion. Then, caramelize it with its own sugar. To do this, brown it over medium heat in a nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Add 1 tablespoon of water and stir sporadically until evaporated. Repeat this procedure as many times as you want until you get tender and very sweet onions. To assemble the filling for your humita pie, mix the onion with the creamy corn, corn kernels, skim milk and nutmeg.

Trick: you can replace the creamy corn with fresh corn. In this case, you will not need to add milk. Peel 2 corns and boil them until their kernels turn a vivid yellow color (about 7 minutes). With the help of a fork stuck in the tip of the bone, shell the corn with a knife.
