Horse Mackerel Empanadas Recipe

Ingredients to make Horse Mackerel Empanadas:

• 150 grams of horse mackerel

• 1 onion

• 1 sprig of parsley

• 1 boiled egg (optional)

• 4 dough’s for empanadas

• 400 milliliters of oil for frying

How to make Horse Mackerel Empanadas:

First of all, clean the horse mackerel, removing the bones and the skin of the fish to proceed to shred it.

Tip: You can also make jack mackerel empanadas in a jar, they are faster!

Wash the onion and parsley, cut the onion into small cubes and the parsley as small as possible. In a frying pan with a splash of oil, fry the onion until it turns a little transparent. Add the parsley and horse mackerel to the sauce, season to taste with salt and pepper. Extend a dough for empanada and fill with horse mackerel. Add the chopped egg if you like and close the edges of the empanada with the help of a fork.

Heat the oil for at least 5 minutes. Carefully dip one of the jack mackerel patties to fry on one side. After about 3 to 5 minutes, turn the empanada over to fry the other side, they should be golden on both sides. Serve the fried horse mackerel empanadas while they are warm and enjoy!
