Oatmeal is an ingredient widely used to prepare satiating and healthy breakfasts and snacks. Some homemade chocolate energy bars are the best option, since, apart from incorporating ingredients that you want, they are also very comfortable to take to work, the gym or simply to a picnic. These oatmeal and chocolate energy bars that I share are simple and combine these two ingredients with nuts, without added sugars, quick to make and delicious.

- 1 cup of oat flakes
- 6 dates
- 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
- 1 bar of dark chocolate
- 4 tablespoons raw peanuts
- 1 tablespoon of hemp seeds
- 3 tablespoons of raisins
How to make Homemade Chocolate Energy Bars:
- Heat a frying pan and toast the oat flakes for 3-4 minutes, stirring continuously so they don’t burn.
- Soak the dates in warm water for 10 minutes, drain well and blend them together with the peanut butter in a blender until they form a smooth paste.
- You can make the homemade peanut butter recipe yourself if you prefer.
- Mix the date paste with the toasted oatmeal until it is well integrated.
- Cover a rectangular or square mold with baking paper and pour the oatmeal dough inside. Flatten and level with a spoon or your fingers to form the base of homemade chocolate oatmeal bars. Leave the mold in the fridge.
- Melt the chocolate in the microwave or in a bain-marie and pour it over the base of the bars. Let cool 10-15 minutes.
- Mix the peanuts, raisins and hemp seeds.
- When the chocolate has cooled a bit, spread the nut mixture over the mold of the chocolate and oatmeal energy bars, and chill again until the chocolate hardens completely.
- Unmold the preparation and cut it into rectangular bars. Enjoy the oatmeal and chocolate energy bars in your breakfasts and snacks.
- You can accompany the easy-to-make homemade chocolate energy bars with a cup of kombucha tea or a cup of easy golden milk to complete your healthy breakfast or snack.
