Ham and cheese puff pastry recipe

Ingredients to make Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry:

• 1 sheet of puff pastry of 5oo grs.

• 1 egg yolk

• For the filling:

• four slices of ham cut a little thick

• ¼ liter of milk

• 6 slices of cheese cut a little thick

• Some flour

• 25 grams of butter

• 1 egg yolk

• 1 pinch of nutmeg

• Salt

• Pepper to taste

How to make Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry:

Roll out the puff pastry until you have a strip the length of the dish and about 18 cm wide. With the dough cutouts, decorate the outside and paint it with the egg yolk. Bake in a preheated oven at 2ooº C for 14-15 minutes. Remove and let cool. Cut horizontally. In a pan, heat the butter, add the flour and let it cook, add the milk, salt, pepper, nutmeg and cook until thick. When removing from the heat, add the yolk and mix. Pour a little sauce on the base of the puff pastry and on top of it a layer of ham and another layer of cheese, cover with a little more sauce and arrange again a layer of ham and another layer of cheese. Cover the puff pastry and serve hot. It can be prepared in advance and placed in the oven at the time of serving.
