Hake riojana recipe

If you don’t know how homemade Rioja-style hake is made, don’t miss this recipe which has brought us to share it with all of us. Keep reading the ingredients and review its easy preparation because in half an hour you can get this traditional dish from La Rioja without complications.

Ingredients to make Hake a la Rioja:

  • 8 pieces of hake loin
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 8 garlic cloves
  • 1 splash of wine
  • 1 onion
  • salted
  • ground pepper
  • oil
  • 8 boiled potatoes (optional)
  • Sweet paprika (preferably from La Vera)

How to make Hake a la Rioja:

  1. Season the hake loins with salt and pepper and place on a baking sheet.
  2. I did not put onions but the traditional Rioja-style hake is made like this. Cut the onion into julienne strips, the pepper into strips and the garlic into slices. Sauté everything together in a pan with oil until everything is well poached. Add a little wine and a pinch of paprika to the sauce and allow reducing.
  3. Trick: Put the oven to heat up to 200 ºC while we sauté the sauce.
  4. Put our Rioja sauce on the fish and put it in the oven for 15 minutes at 200ºC.
  5. I accompanied this Rioja-style hake recipe with boiled potatoes but you can also put vegetables in the oven taking advantage of the other preparation. Quick, easy and delicious dish!
