Ingredients to make Hake in tomato sauce:

  • 3 Hake fillets
  • 1 glass of white wine
  • 1 onion
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • ½ red pepper
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 teaspoon of Garlic Paste or Minced Garlic from a jar of spices
  • 1 pinch of Salt and Pepper
  • 210 grams of fried tomato
  • 1 pinch of oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 splash of olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon of Sugar

How to make Hake in tomato sauce:

  1. The first step to make our stewed hake dish will be to finely chop the vegetables, the onion, the garlic and the pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add the vegetables and season by also adding the bay leaf, pepper and salt. Sauté for about 5 minutes and after this time we add the peas.
  3. On the other hand, season the hake fillets with salt and pepper and also add a pinch of ground garlic, oregano and dried parsley on top. It is best to cut the fish into strips of about 2 centimeters to make our dish of hake in sauce, but this is to taste.
  4. Place the hake in the pan and cook for a few minutes, stirring well to integrate the flavors. Then add the wine and let it reduce for a couple of minutes, stirring from time to time to prevent it from sticking.
  5. To finish we added the fried tomato and corrected the acidity of the sauce with the sugar. We remove all the hake stew for about 4-5 minutes, cooking over medium heat and we will have our plate ready.
  6. Hake in tomato sauce is a delicious dish that you can accompany with any type of garnish. Our recommendation is to try it with some French fries or mashed potatoes, although you can also take advantage of the sauce with white rice or even cooked macaroni, each one to their liking. To enjoy!
