  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 1 glass of fish smoke
  • 1 glass of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon of Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon parsley

How to make Hake meatballs in tomato sauce:

  1. To make these delicious fish balls, the first thing to do is shred the hake or chop it in a food processor, season with salt and pepper, add the chopped parsley, the egg and half a very finely chopped onion.
  2. Mix all these ingredients until they are integrated and then move with your hands so that they come together.
  3. Add bread to the mixture to help bind the fish mass and make it more compact. Store it in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  4. After this time, remove the dough from the fridge and knead gently to form the hake balls. Go passing the balls through flour and reserve.
  5. In a frying pan with olive oil, brown the meatballs over medium heat and reserve.
  6. To make the tomato sauce we must chop the remaining half onion and put it in a casserole with oil to fry the meatballs. When you see that the onion begins to brown, add the peeled and chopped tomatoes into the pan and continue to fry for a few minutes until the water in the tomato has evaporated.
  7. Next, add the wine and let the alcohol evaporate, add a glass of fish stock that we will have made with the bones and skins of the hake, add the meatballs and cook over low heat for 15 minutes.
  8. Let the sauce reduce to your liking and that’s it, you can now enjoy a wonderful dish of hake meatballs in tomato sauce. These fish meatballs are ideal to accompany with white rice or even with spaghetti.
