Hake and tuna cake recipe

This hake and tuna cake that we propose is perfect for children to eat fish without question. Prepare it for a light dinner at home with these simple steps… And so simple: all cooked in the microwave!

Ingredients to make Hake and tuna cake:

  • 4 Hake fillets
  • 1 can of tuna
  • 1 unit of onion
  • 4 units of Egg
  • 200 milliliters of liquid cream
  • 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of black pepper
  • 1 splash of olive oil
  • For decoration:
  • 4 tablespoons of Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons of Capers

How to make Hake and tuna pie:

  1. Let’s see what are the ingredients for this light hake recipe. For the fish, we choose four skinless and boneless hake fillets -they can be frozen-. We have chosen the tuna in olive oil, although we will drain it. For decoration, you can replace the mayonnaise and capers with other ingredients, such as tomato sauce and pitted olives.
  2. We are going to cook this fish cake in the microwave. We choose a suitable bowl for this appliance; add a splash of oil and a pinch of salt and the chopped onion. We mix it and, with the bowl covered, we cook it in the microwave for five minutes.
  3. Next we shred the hake, trying to eliminate possible thorns. Add the hake to the onion bowl, together with a little more oil, salt and pepper. Mix it again and heat it in the microwave for two minutes.
  4. In another bowl, beat the eggs with pepper to taste, the liquid cream and the two tablespoons of tomato sauce. Add the previously drained and shredded tuna to the mixture, and also the hake with onion, which we will drain from any possible brother that may have formed during cooking. We beat the whole for a minute and pour it into a microwave-safe mold, previously greased with a little oil.
  5. We cover the mold with transparent film, pierce it with a fork a few times and cook it in the microwave for eight or nine minutes. When it is ready, we will wait for it to cool down before unmolding it.
  6. The hake and tuna pie is almost ready. Once you have unmolded it, you just have to cover it with a layer of mayonnaise (or tomato sauce if you prefer) and decorate it with some capers (olives will also work). Serve chilled with a fruity white wine and enjoy!
