Green pepper croquettes recipe

Ingredients to make Green Pepper Croquettes:

  • 2 green Italian peppers
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 100 grams of flour
  • 100 grams of margarine
  • Salt and ground white pepper
  • 1 egg
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Flour for batter
  • Bread crumbs

How to make Green Pepper Croquettes:

In a frying pan, with the butter and a drizzle of oil, fry the onion and green pepper chopped into brunoises (small diced). When they are soft, add the flour, stir to break up the flour lumps and add the hot milk. We stir until thick. Remove from the heat and let the béchamel mass cool until it is manageable. With the help of a spoon we form the croquettes. Coat first with flour, then with beaten egg, and finally with breadcrumbs. Fry in plenty of oil and remove them to a tray lined with kitchen paper to remove excess oil from the frying.

Without them getting cold, we remove them from the tray with kitchen paper and serve them on a tray or on a plate accompanied by a tomato sauce or a salad.
