FoodsDiary By FoodsDiary

Ingredients to make Galician Mussels:

  • 500 grams of mussels
  • 100 milliliters of olive oil
  • 2 dessert spoons of sweet or hot paprika
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 4 garlic cloves

How to make Galician Mussels:

  1. We prepare the ingredients for this mussel’s recipe. The paprika can be sweet or spicy, or you can mix it.
  2. In a large saucepan introduce two fingers of water and spread the mussels, which have to be covered. Bring it to a boil and let them cook for about 10 minutes. As they open, you take them out of the pot. Those that have not been opened in that time will have to be discarded. Reserve 50 milliliters of the cooking broth.
  3. Put the mussels in a fountain. To keep them warm, you can put the dish in the oven at 40ºC.
  4. Now we prepare the broth to water the mussel’s Galician style. In a frying pan, brown the garlic cloves with oil, and when they are golden brown, add the two heaping teaspoons of paprika. Stir well and let it cook for a few minutes.
  5. Next we will add the cooking broth of the mussels and wait a few more minutes.
  6. Take the mussels out of the oven, water them with the paprika broth and enjoy this Galician recipe for this very cheap seafood. Accompany them with a white wine and consume them immediately to prevent them from getting cold.
