How to make Fruit Skewers for Parties

  • The first thing you should know is that to make these fruit skewers you can use all the fruit you want. We have opted for more Caribbean flavors and that is why we have included mango and pineapple, but if you prefer, you can change this selection and use, for example, grapes or apple.
  • Wash all the fruit very well and peel the necessary ones, in this case, the pineapple, mango, banana and kiwi. With the melon we will do something else, cut it in half, remove all the seeds and use a special spoon to remove balls of melon pulp.
  • Reserve the empty bowl of melon to color there some fruits and that it remains as part of the decoration.
  • Cut the kiwi and the banana into slices, the banana ones a little thicker. We will use whole strawberries.
  • Also cut the mango into squares, as seen in the photo and do the same with the pineapple.
  • To correctly calculate the sizes of each cut you should think about the diners, I suppose that in each bite you should eat one or two pieces of fruit at most, so do not make them too big, but also not so small that they cannot be held in the spike.
  • To assemble the skewers there is no specific guide, the only thing you must keep in mind is that the pieces of fruit that may be weaker, such as kiwi or mango, should always go in the center.
  • For the base of the fruit skewer I recommend using the pineapple, since being much firmer will give the skewer consistency. Apart from this, you can combine the colors as you like.
  • To finish, mix the lemon juice with sugar until the sugar dissolves well. Add the amount of sugar that you consider necessary, the idea is to make a kind of acid syrup with which we will bathe the skewers a little.
  • Place all the fruit skewers on a tray and place the empty melon hulls in the center. Fill them with the rest of the fruit that you have not been able to put on the skewers together with a few wooden toothpicks, decorate with some mint leaves and bathe everything with the sugar and lemon mixture.
  • With these fruit skewers for parties you will have all your guests happy, because in addition to being a very colorful and attractive appetizer, it is a healthy and natural dish. Also, surely children are encouraged to eat more fruit
