Fried Spiced Lentils Recipe

Ingredients to make Fried Spiced Lentils:

  • 50 cc of oil
  • 300 cc of water
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 5 teaspoons of cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 80 grams of chickpeas (already soaked the night before)
  • 150 grams of lentils (already soaked the night before)
  • 5 teaspoons grain mustard
  • 4 green peppers
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 400 grams of chopped tomatoes

How to make Fried Spiced Lentils:

1 Put the water, the lentils, the chickpeas, the chopped green peppers, the turmeric and the chopped onion in a pot.

2 Cook, over medium heat, about 40 minutes.

3 Remove and make a puree with this preparation.

4 Add the salt, the tomatoes and mix well.

5 If it gets too thick, add a little hot water.

6 Heat the oil in the pan, add the mustard seeds, cumin and minced garlic.

7Sauté a few minutes.

8 Add this mixture of spices over the previously prepared puree and serve.
