Ingredients to make French hot chocolate:
- 8 ounces of good bittersweet chocolate bars
- 1/2 cup thick cream (heavy cream)
- 1 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
How to make French hot chocolate:
- Break the chocolate into pieces and place in a sauce pot. Place the pot over medium-low heat and add the milk, cream, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.
- Stir until the chocolate is simmered and the drinking chocolate is completely smooth and slightly thick.
- French hot chocolate drink should be substantially thicker than classic hot chocolate, but not as thick as chocolate fondue. If the texture is too fine, simmer a little longer. If it’s too thick, add another 1/4 cup of milk.
- Serve the Parisian chocolate recipe in cups and immediately enjoy the French hot chocolate. Clever!
