French Hake Fillet Recipe

Ingredients to make French-style Hake Fillet:

  • 6 pcs. hake fillet
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Pepper
  • 1/2 cch. peppercorns
  • 1 ram. bay leaf
  • 1 ram. parsley
  • 50 g. butter
  • 1 pc. onion
  • 1 can(s) tomatoes
  • 1/2 glass(s) dry white wine
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1 pc. grated cheese
  • 1 pc. chopped parsley

How to make French-style Hake Fillet:

  1. Place enough water in a saucepan to cover the fillets.
  2. Add the salt, peppercorns, bay leaf and parsley and boil for 5 minutes.
  3. Arrange the fillets in the saucepan and let them simmer slowly until they are cooked.
  4. Melt the butter in a saucepan and cook the onion, add the tomatoes and cook until a sauce forms.
  5. Season to taste with salt and pepper and thicken with the cornstarch diluted in the wine.
  6. Stir constantly until it boils and thickens.
  7. Drain the fillets and place them in a baking dish, without layering.
  8. Cover with the tomato sauce, make a rim with the mashed potatoes and bake in the oven until the mashed potatoes are golden.
  9. Derve sprinkled with grated cheese and chopped parsley.
