Hake is a low-calorie white fish that is widely consumed, but not everyone appreciates its flavor. That’s why we are going to show you this recipe for fish with onion and peppers, an infallible trick to cook any type of white fish and give it an exquisite flavor.

In the event that hake with peppers and onion is not one of your favorite fish, you can always opt for another, but we assure you that this one is delicious. In addition, it is very easy and quick to make because it will be ready in 30 minutes, and they are ingredients that everyone has at home. Check it!

Ingredients to make Fish with onion and peppers:

  • 2 hake fillets or other white fish
  • 1 onion
  • ½ bell pepper (this is roasted)
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch of salt

How to make Fish with onion and peppers:

  1. Bring a pan with the oil and the onion cut into thin slices over medium-low heat. Sauté the onion until it starts to brown (about 5 minutes).
  2. Add the hake fillets to the pan and season to taste with salt and pepper. Also add the roasted pepper and mix everything. Cover and cook the hake with peppers and onion for about 15-20 minutes.
  3. For this fried hake recipe I used roasted pepper because it has a more intense flavor than raw. To do this, I used this Roasted Peppers and Chives Salad recipe.
  4. Tip: The thinnest hake fillets will take less time to cook.
  5. After the indicated time the fish with onions and roasted red peppers will be ready. As you can see, it’s very easy to make and it’s delicious, and if you also serve it with mashed potatoes with mustard as a garnish, it’ll be even better! I hope you like it.
