Ingredients to make fish mixiotes with vegetables:

  • 4 white fish fillets
  • 1 piece of Lemon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of Pepper
  • 1 piece of Onion
  • 5 pieces of mushrooms
  • 2 pieces of red tomato
  • 2 pieces of Pepper
  • 2 pieces of Pumpkin
  • 1 piece of Alioto
  • 1 pinch of garlic salt
  • 4 pieces of aluminum foil

How to make fish mixiotes with vegetables:

  1. In the following image you can see the ingredients that we will need to prepare our exquisite fish mixiotes with vegetables for Christmas.
  2. We are going to start the recipe by placing the fish in a deep bowl. Then, we add the lemon juice, a pinch of salt and pepper and let it marinate for 10 minutes. Once this time has passed, we remove the fish from the lemon and reserve it for a moment.
  3. While the fish is marinating, we can take the opportunity to take the guerilla chills, wash them, devein them and remove the seeds. Once clean, we cook them in hot water for approximately 5 minutes to soften them.
  4. When the chilies are ready, we place them in the blender together with the onion, the garlic salt and the axiote. Then, we proceed to blend these ingredients until a homogeneous sauce is formed to continue with the preparation of the fish mixiotes.
  5. On the other hand, we take the vegetables (red tomato, pumpkin, pepper and mushroom) and slice them thinly.
  6. Now, to make the Mexican mixiotes we will have to form a bag with the aluminum foil. To do this, we take the pieces of aluminum and fold them in half. Later, we join the lateral ends, which remain open, making folds towards the center, forcefully, ensuring that they are well sealed. Once this is done, the upper part should be completely open, to be able to introduce the fish with the vegetables and the sauce in the next step.
  7. We place the fish inside the aluminum bag that we prepared in the previous step, add the vegetables and, finally, the Mexican red sauce. We seal the bag to prevent the ingredients from spilling out and the Christmas mixiotes are perfect.
  8. The Mexican mixiotes are steamed, so we place the aluminum bag in the steamer, close it and let the preparation cook for 30 minutes over medium heat.
  9. After the cooking time, we remove the preparation from the heat, we make sure that everything is well cooked and we serve this delicious dish of fish mixiotes with vegetables. Bon Appetite!
