  • 500 grams of pork ribs
  • 8 units of pork sausages
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 units of white onion
  • 3 units of red tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic paste
  • 1 pinch of Cumin
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of black pepper
  • 250 grams of black beans soaked from the previous day

How to make Feijoada:

  1. The first step to make our easy feijoada recipe is to pre-list all the ingredients.
  2. Take the black beans to a deep pot, removing the water where we hydrated them and adding new water until they are completely covered.
  3. Add a little salt and dried thyme, ideally we cook it in a pressure cooker, but if you don’t have it, you can cook it in a conventional pot, keeping in mind that the cooking of this ingredient will take longer.
  4. In a refractory place the ribs in medium pieces without the need to add oil or any additional ingredient.
  5. Take them to the oven at 180ºC for 20-30 minutes, or until you see that the ribs are golden, ideally they cook in their own fat.
  6. Bring a skillet to medium heat and add the white onion and the diced tomato to make the base sauce for the feijoada.
  7. Add a little dried thyme, salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Add a little garlic paste to taste and mix the sauce ingredients well.
  9. Add the bacon cut into thin strips as shown in the photograph, let it brown with the sauce, this will give a lot of flavor to the Brazilian recipe.
  10. Add the sliced sausages and mix very well with the rest of the soffit base.
  11. Add the soffit that we made in the previous step to the pot where we have the black beans already cooked, and we will have the feijoada almost ready.
  12. Let the preparation cook over low heat for 10-15 minutes so that the flavors are concentrated.
  13. Serve the feijoada with white rice and, if you wish, with orange or lemon peels, add the oven-roasted pork ribs on top and it will be ready to eat.
  14. You can also accompany this typical Brazilian recipe with spicy mojo or pork rinds.
