Fava Bean Puree Recipe

Broad beans belong to the legume family and are a healthy food since they favor intestinal transit and help lower cholesterol. With this recipe you will learn to make a smooth and delicious puree, perfect for children.

Ingredients to make mashed beans:

  • 250 grams of broad beans
  • 1 unit of red onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 150 milliliters of broad bean broth
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 lemon unit
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of Cumin
  • 1 pinch of pepper

How to make mashed beans:

  1. Before making this recipe, the first step is to get all the ingredients ready.
  2. In a pot with water and salt, cook the beans for approximately 20 minutes, until they are soft.
  3. Apart in a pan with oil, sauté the onion and garlic finely chopped, until golden.
  4. Process the garlic and onion together with the beans and their cooking broth. Blend until smooth and homogeneous consistency.
  5. Add the lemon juice, salt, pepper and a pinch of cumin. Process again.
  6. Serve the mashed potatoes and sprinkle finely chopped chives. This healthy side dish is ideal to accompany a baked chicken.
