  • 1 cup of milk (240 milliliters)

  • 1 banana
  • 1 tablespoon of blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon of raspberries
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup, honey, agave, or other liquid sweetener

How to make English Porridge:

  1. In the porridge, the traditional recipe indicates that it is important to toast the oats slightly before starting the preparation so that it is tastier.
  2. For this reason, we have toasted the oat flakes in a pan over medium heat for 1 minute, moving well with a spoon.
  3. Heat the oats and milk in a saucepan over medium heat and begin to stir.
  4. This recipe can be prepared with milk, non- dairy milk or water, depending on how you like your porridge.
  5. Next, add a pinch of salt and continue stirring. The salt makes the oatmeal porridge enhance its flavor.
  6. Let the English porridge cook until it has the consistency of soft porridge.
  7. If you like it thicker you can cook it a bit longer and if you prefer it lighter you can add more liquid. The important thing is that it is creamy.
  8. We accompany this fitness oatmeal porridge with a few slices of banana and a few wild fruits such as raspberries and blueberries.
  9. We are also going to season with maple or agave syrup, or with honey.
  10. This English porridge is perfect for breakfast, but there are also people who have porridge for dinner, we leave it to your liking.
