Ingredients to make Caramel Egg Custard:

  1. 500 milliliters of liquid milk
  2. 11 tablespoons of sugar
  3. 4 tablespoons of Cornstarch
  4. 1 pinch of Cinnamon powder
  5. 1 tablespoon of vanilla essence
  6. 2 units of Eggs

How to make Caramel Egg Custard:

  • To make the egg custard with caramel, we are going to start by pouring half of the milk into a jug together with the cinnamon and the vanilla essence. Bring to low heat and leave there for a moment.

Trick: If you prefer the egg custard of another flavor, you can add the flavoring that you like the most: lemon, orange peel or zest, etc.

  • In a bowl, pour the remaining milk and the eggs. Mix with a fork or manual whisk for approximately 2 minutes until the eggs break apart and obtain a homogeneous mixture for the egg custard with caramel.
  • Add to the bowl, with the milk and egg mixture, the cornstarch and 4 tablespoons of sugar. Mix everything for approximately 2 minutes, until integrating the ingredients of the egg custard and obtaining a preparation without lumps.
  • To the jug with milk that we have on the fire, add the contents of the bowl. Stir from time to time with a wooden spoon until you get a smooth and thick cream. When it starts to boil, remove our already cooked egg custard from the heat.
  • Serve the egg custard in three individual molds so that they warm up and also, to have them ready when we want to serve the caramel, because if we delay in preparing the cups with the homemade custard when the caramel is ready it would harden since in matter of seconds it begins to dry.
  • While the egg custard cools for a moment, prepare the caramel. To do this, in a jug or saucepan add the remaining sugar and bring to medium heat. Stir constantly as we notice that the sugar begins to dissolve and turn into caramel, to prevent it from burning. Continue until the sugar is completely dissolved and a golden caramel is obtained. Remove from the fire.
  • Spread the caramel on top of the egg custard, covering the entire base. In just a few minutes you already have these tasty egg custards with caramel ready to taste with whoever you prefer. Enjoy them!
