Easy homemade cottage cheese recipe

  • 1 liter of milk (can be sour milk)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar
  • 1 dessert spoon of salt

How to make Easy Homemade Cottage Cheese:

  1. Pour the milk into a saucepan and heat it until it starts to boil. When it reaches the first boil, turn off the heat, add the lemon or vinegar.
  2.  Let it rest until the milk is as in the photo, with an appearance of curdled milk in which the whey is perfectly observed.
  3. Tip: This homemade cottage cheese recipe can be made with sour milk or yogurt.
  4. When the milk looks like it did before, place a fine cotton cloth inside a strainer and place the strainer in a bowl. Then pour the milk on the cloth.
  5. Let it drain by itself for about 10 minutes or until you notice that it has cooled down a bit.
  6. Then, bring the ends of the cloth together, lift it up, and squeeze out the milk using as much pressure as you can.
