Ingredients to make dulce de leche pudding:

  • 400 grams of creamy dulce de leche (1 can)
  • 300 milliliters of milk (1¼ cups)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup of sugar (200 grams)
  • 1 glass of water
  • 3 tablespoons of vinegar

How to make dulce de leche pudding:

  1. First mix the dulce de leche with the milk, eggs and cornstarch.

  3. Pour the sugar into a mold with a hole in the middle (crown mold) and put it on low heat so that it melts little by little.
  4. Stir constantly until the sugar completely melts and turns into caramel.
  5. Take it off the heat, wait for it to cool down a bit and, with the help of a spoon, spread the caramel all over the base and edges of the mold.

  7. In a large pot put a finger in water at room temperature and add the vinegar.
  8. This will help the pot not darken with the boiling water mark when we put the milk pudding cake in a bain-marie.
  9. Fit the caramelized mold into the pot and pour the easy dulce de leche pudding mixture, straining it previously using a sieve or fine strainer to avoid lumps.
  10. Cover the pan with aluminum foil, then cover the pot with a lid and turn the heat to low. Cook the dulce de leche pudding without oven over low heat for 30 minutes.
  11. Trick: Use a knife or toothpick to pierce it and check if it is already well cooked. If it comes out clean, it’s done!
  12. After cooking the sweet milk puddingin a bain-marie, remove the mold from the pot and let it cool at room temperature for 2 hours.
